Carpentry
Since completing the Carpentry Program, Brandon (Yale Secondary Grad) has worked as a Carpentry apprentice and is planning to become a Firefighter with Abbotsford Fire Rescue Service. The Carpentry program is offered at Abbotsford Senior Secondary, and allows students to maximize opportunities for future career development in construction while still in high school.
Duration: Daytime, September – June of Grade 12 or Year 13 after graduation
Total Credits: 36
Prior to Program: Successful completion of
- all required Grade 10 - Grade 12 courses. (CLC 12 is completed during the program.)
Transportation: Responsibility of student
Equipment & Textbook costs: Approximately $500
Work Experience: 240 hours in trade OR Youth Work in Trades (480 hours)
Certification Received: Carpentry Level 1 (Skilled Trades BC Final Exam)
