Carpentry Application

Since completing the Carpentry Program, Brandon (Yale Secondary Grad) has worked as a Carpentry apprentice and is planning to become a Firefighter with Abbotsford Fire Rescue Service. The Carpentry program is offered at Abbotsford Senior Secondary, and allows students to maximize opportunities for future career development in construction while still in high school.

Duration: Daytime, September – January of Grade 12
Prior to Program: Successful completion of

  • all required Grade 10 & Grade 11 courses
  • English Language Arts 12

Transportation: Responsibility of student
Equipment & Textbook costs: Approximately $500
Work Experience: 240 hours in trade OR Youth Work in Trades (480 hours)
Certification Received: Carpentry Level 1 (ITA Final Exam)
