Abbotsford Hosts 31st Annual B.C. Skills Competition

Abbotsford, BC – April 9, 2025 – Students are gearing up again to compete in the 2025 Skills Canada BC Provincial trades and technology competitions on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at Tradex in Abbotsford, marking the 31st anniversary for Skills Canada BC. 

Over 600 secondary and post-secondary students who medaled at 13 Regionals from around the province will now compete in a wide variety of trades and technology competitions from carpentry, plumbing, electrical, baking, welding, graphic design, 3D animation, robotics and more.

Proposed Boundary Review for Cooper Meadows & High Street Village

The Abbotsford School District has initiated a proposed boundary review for the Cooper Meadows Development and the High Street Village Development. These reviews seek to address changes in catchment boundaries resulting from significant residential projects, ensuring students continue to receive the best possible educational experience as our community grows.

Abbotsford Students are heading to Skills Canada National Competition

Students from Abbotsford brought home 5 medals from the Skills Canada BC Provincial Competition, which took place on April 19, 2023, at the Tradex. The competition featured students from across the province showcasing their skills in trades, serving as the next round of competitions following the regionals held in early March. From Electrical Wiring, Carpentry, Automotive Service, and TV and Film, students successfully demonstrated their expertise, showcased their mastery of the trade and highlighted their creative talents.
