Carpentry
UFV’s Carpentry program will prepare you for entry into the carpentry trade and the provincial apprenticeship program. Sample topics include:
- Reading and interpreting drawings
- Using specialty equipment
- Site and building layout
- Building concrete forms
- Framing a building
- Finishing internal and external details
Duration: September-March, Full-time Monday-Friday, 24 weeks
Location: UFV Trades and Technology Centre-Chilliwack
Prior to Program: Successful completion of
- All grade 10 and Grade 11 graduation-required courses
- English Language Arts 12 67% minimum
- Math 11 (Foundations of Mathematics, Pre-calculus or Apprenticeship and Workplace Mathematics with 67% minimum unless program specific requirement)
- Exemplary attendance and conduct
- Competitive entry
Transportation: Responsibility of student
