Work Placements


Work Experience 12

Students enrolled in Work Experience 12A/12B are required to complete approximately 100-120 hours of paid or volunteer work. Students must complete all requirements and meet the intended learning outcomes as set our by the Ministry of Education. Upon completion, students earn 4 credits per course towards graduation.  Students interested in Work Experience 12 should speak with the coordinator at their home high school.

Youth Work In Trades 11A/11B 12A/12B

Grade 10, 11, 12 students:   Are you currently working in a skilled trade, maybe at a restaurant, on a construction site, in an automotive shop, or in a hair salon?  If so, you may be eligible to enroll in Youth Work In Trades and earn a $1,000 award.

Work Study

Work Study is designed to meet the needs of students 15 years of age and older, in Grades 10-12+, with academic, social, cultural, and/or other challenges. Students are referred by Teachers, Counselors and Administrative staff.


Secondary Fire Academy

Abbotsford Fire Rescue Service has partnered with Abbotsford School District to design a program that gives students an up close look into the daily work life of a career or paid on-call firefighter
